Mrs. Sarah Scott Dies
At Age 91!
Formerly Lived Near Mt. Auburn,
Blue Mound.
Mrs. Sarah Scott widow of Joseph M. Scott died at 4 o'clock
Thursday morning at the home of her son W H Scott 438 West Wood street. She was
ninety-one years old Dec. 14 (1927). Her death was due to infirmities of age.
Mrs. Scott was born m Madison
county. Dee 14. 1836. and was a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. William M. Whiteside, pioneer settlers of Madison county. After her marriage she and her
husband resided on a farm near Mt.
Auburn for
twenty-seven years . They then moved to Blue Mound where they resided for
sixteen years. She was a member of the Christian church of Blue Mound.
Mr. Scott died there seven years ago and since then she has made her home with her
daughters at Blue Mound and her son in Decatur.
FOUR CHILDREN
She is survived by four children: Mrs. Alice Crow and Mrs. Mary
Davidson of Blue Mound, Mrs. Minnie Davidson of Dorchester, Neb.,
and W H Scott of Decatur. She also leaves a brother, Samuel Whiteside of Niantic.
There are fifteen grand-children and eleven great grand-children. The body was
taken to Dawson & Wikoff, funeral directors.
and prepared for burial. The funeral will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday
forenoon at the Christian church in Blue Mound. The burial will be in the Hall
cemetery.
